Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. –Psalm 22:28, 30–31
Father, I am thankful for your compassion and pity on me. I thank you that though I was weak, needy, afflicted, destitute, and in opposition to you, you rescued me.
You delivered me from the hand of the wicked. Now awaken my heart to uphold the dignity and maintain the right of the afflicted and those in need.
Father, forgive me for my selfishness. Forgive me for showing partiality to the wicked. Forgive me for preying on those who have been exploited for evil gain. Open my eyes to see who the weak and the fatherless are.
O my soul, be not indifferent to the afflicted and destitute. Holy Spirit convict my heart when you show me who the weak are. Move me to act for and serve the weak and needy that you may be glorified in my reflection of you.
